Poem: The Bodacious Body Ballet
Oh, the lungs, they puff and pant,
Like a bellows in a smithy's hand.
Inhale the air, exhale the dread,
A dance of breath, a rhythm ahead.
The heart, it beats with steady drum,
Pumping blood, a lively hum.
Through veins and arteries it flows,
A river of life, ebb and flow.
The gonads whisper secrets deep,
In their nest, where life's secrets keep.
A symphony of hormones played,
In the body's grand orchestra laid.
The pancreas, the liver too,
Work their magic, to and fro.
Bile and enzymes, a chemical balm,
Keep the machine running calm.
The spleen, it filters, cleans, and stores,
A silent guardian, hidden lore.
While the kidneys, they purify,
The blood, a gift, so we can thrive.
The brain, oh the brain, a maestro grand,
Directing all, in this band.
Neurons fire, a spark so bright,
Guiding thoughts, day and night.
So here's to the organs, in their glory,
A comedy of life, a symphony.
They work and toil, without a fuss,
Keeping us standing, in this grand bus.
So let's raise a glass, to the internal show,
A marvelous spectacle, let's not slow.
For without them, we'd be in a pickle,
So here's to the body, that's quite the trickle!
